Ground Transportation

June 5, 2018

If your plans during Fall Convention call for a means of transportation, Minneapolis has these resources for travelers looking for a ride.

Uber & Lyft – Uber and Lyft are both available in Minneapolis. Simply download the Uber or Lyft apps on your smartphone and use it to request a car to take you to your destination. Both services are similar and utilize local resident drivers. All cars are clean and drivers are friendly. The app makes it easy to pay for rides without the exchange of money directly with the driver.

Pickup at Minneapolis St Paul Airport Terminal 1 is located on Level 2 of the Green Parking Ramp, above the Ground Transportation Center.

Pickup for Terminal 2 is available  from the Ground Transport Center, on the ground level of the Purple parking ramp.

SuperShuttle – Shared ride service to and from the airport is available through SuperShuttle. Advance reservations are highly recommended. At Minneapolis St Paul Airport Terminal 1, SuperShuttle ticket counters are located in the Ground Transport Center, accessible via the terminal’s Tram Level. Follow the signs to the escalator or elevator up.

Travelers arriving at Terminal 2  can call for pickup at the SuperShuttle kiosk in the Ground Transport Center, located on Level 1 of the Purple Ramp across from the terminal building

Go to supershuttle.com for more information.

Light Rail – Light rail transit (LRT) trains stop at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 and connect travelers to 17 other destinations, including downtown Minneapolis to the north and Mall of America to the south. Trains run every 10 minutes during peak hours and every 10 to 15 minutes at other times of the day. Terminal 1 to the hotel is estimated to take 24 minutes and Terminal 2 to the hotel an estimated 28 minutes.

Local Taxi Drivers – Taxi service  at Terminal 1 is accessible via the Tram Level. Signs direct passengers one level up to the taxi starter booth, where airport staff will assist passengers in obtaining a taxi.

At Terminal 2, taxi service is available at the Ground Transport Center, located on the ground level of the Purple ramp directly across from the terminal building.

If you choose to use this service, make sure you only pay one price for your ride and not a per person rate.

On-Airport Car Rentals – All on-airport rental car companies have counters at both terminals.

Terminal 1 – On-airport rental car counters at Terminal 1 are located on the second and third levels between the Blue and Red parking ramps. Passengers can take the underground tram to the ramps and then take an elevator to the second or third floor.

Terminal 2 – At Terminal 2, on-airport rental car counters are located in the Ground Transport Center on the ground level of the Purple Ramp directly across from the terminal building.
