Notes from Golf Chairman – Mark Czopek

Weather in Omaha

While Omaha enjoyed a taste of spring last week, winter not only made a return visit over the weekend, but the forecast for Wednesday afternoon continues to call for temps of 42 degrees, cloudy and winds over 20 mph.  With than said, the decision has been made to bring the golf event indoors.

Our event has been moved to BeyondGolf Omaha. Transportation will still be provided, with our group meeting at the Association’s registration desk at 11:45a and bus departing at noon. We expect to be back at the hotel around 4:30p.

  • Three of the most realistic golf simulators available anywhere!
  • Unmatched high-resolution imagery (NOT computer generated graphics)
  • Utilizes high speed cameras for extreme accuracy
  • Will include games such as long drive, closest to pin, through the goal post and you can even try to break a few windows
  • Four sets of clubs provided 3-R  1-L but you are welcome to bring your own
  • Food and drinks provided

The afternoon of Wednesday April 18th you will have the choice to participate in a Golf Tournament. This years golf tournament will take place at Shoreline Golf Course, only five minutes from downtown Omaha.

Shoreline’s 18 hole, par 72 championship golf course is a scenic lakeside golf course bordering the shores of Carter Lake.

Mature cottonwood trees line the bluegrass fairways that lead to large bent grass greens, providing a traditional and serene experience.

With four sets of tees on each hole, measuring 6,600 yards from the tips, Shoreline suits all levels of players. Shoreline’s signature hole, the 13th, is one of the most scenic holes in the metro area. Golfers are treated to the natural beauty of the golf course and a panoramic view of Carter Lake.

Shoreline’s practice facility was expanded in 2007. Both the hitting area and target greens have been renovated. In addition, Shoreline provides a large practice green for those looking to hone their short game skills.
